Collection and Research
Dublin City Historian

The Murray School House, built in 1956, is now a museum of Dublin’s past.  A permanent exhibit tells the story of Dublin’s progression through lively, interactive exhibits.  The “Little Classroom” within the Murray School is used for exhibits, programs and meetings.  The museum is open six days a week and admission is free during regular hours

Old St. Raymond’s Church, built in 1859, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is the oldest wooden church in California. The church is available for rental and lends itself well to intimate gatherings such as weddings, baptisms, memorials and recitals.  Information and applications are available from the City's Parks and Community Services Department at (925) 833-6645 M-F 8-5 pm.

The Pioneer Cemetery was formally established as a cemetery with the burial of Tom Donlon in 1859.  Tom Donlon, a Dublin pioneer, fell to his death while helping to construct St. Raymond’s Church.  A walk along the path in the shade of giant oak and hawthorn trees takes one back in history where many of Dublin’s founders are buried.  Reading the inscriptions on the old tombstones and interpretative signs provide an easy history lesson.

The mission of the Dublin Heritage Center is to collect, preserve and interpret the material culture of Dublin to provide an historical and cultural focal point that will enrich the community.
