Community and Economic Profile
Since the City's incorporation in 1982, the City's population has progressively increased as both residents and businesses found the benefits of calling Dublin home. Dublin, incorporated in February 1982, is located approximately 350 miles north of Los Angeles and 35 miles east of San Francisco. Dublin is 14.59 square miles in area. The City of Dublin is generally bounded by the City of San Ramon to the north, Castro Valley to the west, the City of Pleasanton to the south, and the City of Livermore to the east.
From a population of approximately 14,300 in 1982, the City of Dublin has grown to a resident population of 53,462 (per the California Department of Finance, 2014). The City has consistently been one of the fastest growing cities in Alameda County for the past several years, and the City is projected to have a total population of between 65,000 and 70,000 at build out.
