Landscaping
The City maintains nearly 40 acres of landscaping improvements in the public right of way through a contract with MCE Corporation. Landscape maintenance services include pruning, bedding maintenance, planting, mowing, fertilization and pest control, irrigation, leaf and litter pickup, and other related activities.
The cost of maintaining median landscaping, as well as improvements installed in conjunction with Capital Improvement Projects, is paid for by the City.
In some areas, street-side landscaping is maintained by the City and the cost paid by adjacent property owners through a landscape maintenance assessment district. These areas include Stagecoach Road, the Villages at Willow Creek development along Dougherty Road, and the Santa Rita development area which is bounded by Arnold Road, Tassajara Road, Gleason Drive, and I-580. Street-side landscaping which is not associated with an assessment district is privately maintained.
Please contact the Public Works Department at 833-6630 for any questions regarding landscaping or to report damage or vandalism.
