Police Services: Division Descriptions AdministrationAdministration is responsible for managing and coordinating the Department's day-to-day operations. Administration has the responsibility of processing and maintaining police reports, citations and evidence. This division also maintains responsibility for preparation and administration of the budget, coordination of delivery of services, and preparation of staff studies and special reports.
Crime PreventionThe Crime Prevention Unit has a variety of programs and information available to the community on various crime prevention topics. The following is a sample of some of those programs:
Neighborhood Watch: a crime prevention program for the residential neighborhood setting that minimizes the opportunity for criminal activity.
Business Alert: programs that network retail stores and non-retail businesses in crime prevention efforts and education.
Speaker's Bureau: Police Services Crime Prevention personnel are available to speak on a variety of topics from child safety to workplace security, and can accommodate most schedules. Interested parties can call and arrange for presentations to community groups on topics including, but not limited to:

Investigations
The Investigations Division is responsible for conducting follow-up investigations with the goal of identifying and arresting the person(s) responsible for alleged crimes.
They investigate crimes against persons, property crimes, forgeries, and auto thefts, among others. Major crimes and other criminal activities frequently require considerable time in follow-up investigation, evidence gathering, and interviewing witnesses and suspects.
PatrolPatrol officers are the first responders to calls for police service. These are the officers seen day to day patrolling Dublin and responding to your calls for service. It is their mission to maintain a safe environment in which all citizens can live.
TrafficThe Traffic Unit's mission is to enforce traffic laws to ensure all drivers will be safe on the streets of Dublin. The officers not only enforce traffic regulations, but also investigate vehicle accidents that occur within the boundaries of the City.
