Planning the Future of Dublin
The Planning Division, as part of the Community Development Department, provides supervision and zoning code enforcement of the development process within the community, including the development and recommendation of policies and regulations. The Planning Division is directly responsible for providing Staff support to the following activities:
- Preparation of updates and amendments to the City's General Plan and Eastern Dublin Specific Plan
- Development of ordinances for consideration by the Planning Commission and City Council
- Administration of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
- Processing of development applications
- Administration and enforcement of the City's Zoning Ordinance including Property Maintenance which is handled by the City's Code Enforcement Officer
A five-member Planning Commission, appointed by the Mayor with the approval of City Council, reviews development proposals and provides recommendations to the City Council. In some cases, the Planning Commission has the ability to take final action on an application, unless appealed to the City Council.
