Solid Waste and RecyclingAmador Valley Industries: (877) 479-9545 www.amadorvalleyindustries.com Solid Waste CollectionThe management of solid waste is a matter of great importance to the City and its residents. Public health and safety requires that the collection, transportation and disposal of solid waste be controlled and regulated as part of a comprehensive system. The City seeks to guarantee a readily available solid waste disposal system that:
The City achieves these goals through the award of an exclusive solid waste franchise. The award of an exclusive franchise guarantees that all residents receive reliable collection services at a reasonable rate by requiring minimum performance standards as conditions of the franchise. The franchise also ensures strict adherence to all environmental requirements and City ordinances. Currently, Amador Valley Industries (AVI) holds the Solid Waste Collection franchise for the City of Dublin. All questions regarding rates, collection schedules and related issues should be directed to Amador Valley Industries. The City of Dublin also has an aggressive and comprehensive recycling program. All single-family residences are provided with recycling containers. Currently, residents may recycle glass, tin, most plastics, newspaper, mixed paper, aluminum cans, and green waste. Recyclable materials are picked-up on the same day that solid waste is collected. All apartment complexes within the City have collection bins for newspaper, mixed paper, glass, aluminum, tin, and most plastics. These recyclable materials are also collected weekly. Holiday ScheduleAmador Valley Industries closes for all services on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's day. During these holiday weeks: If your service day falls on or after the holiday, your pickup will run one day late through Saturday. Large Item Collection ServiceAs part of the minimum level of garbage service, Dublin residents are entitled to three annual on-call large item pick-ups. These pick-ups are an ideal way for residents to dispose of any unwanted material that has been stored away or could not be thrown away as part of the regular garbage pickup. There are a few rules which residents must follow: (Also in you How-To Guide )
