The Dublin Library

Welcome to your Dublin Library! The Library's friendly and knowledgeable staff is ready to help you with your information and recreational needs. Dublin Library is a partnership between the City of Dublin and Alameda County Library. The City funds 31 hours of library service including Sundays and Fridays, and supports the collection with additional money. The new facility opened on April 12, 2003 and circulation is now over 450,000 items a year.

Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday 1 - 5 p.m.

Collections, Services, and Programs

  • An excellent collection of 145,700 materials including books, dvds, and audio books, newspapers, and magazines funded with $1.3 million dollars given to the Library by the City of Dublin
  • Collections in community languages including Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Spanish and Vietnamese
  • Access to 42 different online databases for homework help, research, current affairs, and popular reading available from the Library's website at www.aclibrary.org.
  • E-books and e-audio books available from the library's website at www.aclibrary.org.
  • 40 public Internet stations for use with your library card.
  • Wireless Internet access.
  • Variety of programs for children, including early literacy programs, storytelling, a summer reading program, and special events scheduled throughout the year.
  • Teen Advisory Group.
  • Adult book discussion groups.
  • Volunteer computer tutor available by appointment.
  • Homework Center for students in grades 3 to 8 from October through May.
  • Interlibrary loan, including access to academic collections through Link+.
  • Ongoing book sale sponsored by the Friends of the Dublin Library.
  • An exhibit case for local displays.
  • Two meeting rooms: The small Program Room, which may be booked through the Library, is available during the Library's open hours to non-profit organizations. The large Community Room may be booked through the City of Dublin by contacting the Parks and Recreation Department at 925-833-6645.
  • The Library has a thriving Friends organization, offering financial and volunteer support to the Library.  More information is available at www.dublinfriends.org.
