The Community Development Department in made up of three divisions:

The City Building Official manages the Building and Safety Division. City Staff include a Senior Building Inspector and support staff. Various outside consultant firms provide the plan checking and inspection services.

The Housing Division is managed by the Housing Specialist and supported by staff in the Community Development Department. The Housing Specialist serves as the liaison to the Dublin Housing Authority.

The Planning Division is managed by the Planning Manager. The Planning Division provides supervision and zoning code enforcement of the development process within the community, including the development and recommendation of policies and regulations

The Planning Manager manages the Code Enforcement Officers. The Zoning Enforcement Officer enforces all Zoning and Property Maintenance Ordinances. Enforcement is provided both pro-actively and on a complaint basis through the Planning Division.
The Community Development Director, who oversees the functions of the various Divisions, supervises the Department. There are 26 people staffed in the three Divisions. The managers for the various divisions include a City Building Official, a Housing Specialist and a Planning Manager respectively.
