Dublin Boulevard Road Widening Project Underway

The City of Dublin is widening a stretch of Dublin Boulevard from Dublin Court to Sierra Court (from two lanes to three).  Due to high-traffic volumes on Dublin Boulevard, the work will be done during the nighttime hours, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., to minimize impacts.

There are three phases of construction:

  • Phase 1A - Dublin San Ramon Services District (DSRSD) is relocating a sewer lift station situated near Murco Plaza.  (July 2017 - March 2018)
  • Phase 1B - The City is working with PG&E to relocate utilities to underground.  (mid-June 2017 - March 2018)
  • Phase 2 - The widening of Dublin Boulevard will include expanding the road from two to three lanes of traffic; construction of Class 2 bike lanes and upgrading traffic signals for bicyclist detection; asphalt surfacing; streetscape improvements; and installation of new median islands, curb and gutters, landscaping, and driveway and sidewalk for better accessibility.  (March 2018 - January 2019)

There is one short period of work (less than two weeks) where westbound traffic may be detoured onto eastbound lanes; however, no closures of Dublin Boulevard are expected.

Please visit the City of Dublin’s Roadwork webpage to see complete details about the project, including a map of the work area, and an FAQs document.
